Goal: slower than expected

Getting through these goals is moving slower than I thought. By the end of January I wanted to at least clear the garage and the office.

The desk for my niece is half-primed. After the first coat, the weather turned sour. This weekend would have been perfect weather-wise, but I wasn't feeling well yesterday and today I cleaned out my car and dropped it off to be painted. Expect to have it back in three to four weeks. If you are new to my other blog, my car was initially damaged on Mother's Day last year and then two days before Thanksgiving I hit a deer having minor damage to front bumper.

My goal to get fit is going in the opposite direction. Every since my surgery, I have been gaining weight. Not Good. Found my glycemic food guide book today. It should help me make better choices for my meals. Also took a walk around the neighborhood with the kits today. I plan to do walk everyday as weather permits. I know lack of sleep is a major contributor. I should be able to get more since hubby starts night shift tomorrow night. No more clock alarm sounding at 3:30 am.

At least I was able to get one curtain rod up in the Guest room and put up the blackout panels. Because of their size, I had to put all four on the bottom rod. Concerned about privacy for my niece, along with them I also put some curtains I had planned for another room. They are too heavy for the rod, so I have to change it soon. Niece has said the room is warmer, so it should also help reduce heating costs.

Goal: organization

Just a quick note on progress. It is being quickly discovered that there is lack of organization in this household and it is my fault. I have allowed myself to be loaded with tasks because I tend to want things done a certain way. So the best way to get it done was to do it myself. That is changing.
This weekend I have been working with son on keeping his room organized. Developing specific locations for all items. We're not done yet, but progress is being made. Since he loves reading, I plan to dedicate reading time AFTER room cleaning time. Hopes this encourages actions to clean as you go. As with my niece, there is still some skills to be achieved as a young lady that I would like accomplished before (if?) she returns to her previous caretaker. It's a daily battle.

Regarding goals:
Windows, SonRoom: I did put up blackout panels in son's room for heat conservation and rearranged furniture around the walls to open play space in center. Haven't found reasonably priced Transformers comforter and curtains set yet, so the blackout panels will suffice for now. At least the paper shades are gone.
Purchased rods, ring clips, and blackout panels for niece's room but not put them up yet. Could probably handle the rod installation for the 6ft double window on my own, but the second rod for the palladian window above it, will require some grownup assistance.
Need to kick-start my GetFit goal, been mainly stagnant. I have been invited to a 40th B-Day party in three weeks. Would like to have some improvement by then. Next task for this goal is dedicated routine workouts on HealthRider and TotalGym.

A good thing about turning 40 late in the year, many of your friends turn 40 before you.

Goal: Not much in the last week

I have worked on a few goals in the past few days. This process is easier said than done.

I cheated a little. Had cheese on my homemade hambugers this week and had a few sips of Kool-Aid a few times to pass the urge. I have avoided full glasses of the sugar-loaded refreshment, though.

Cleared two wardrobe boxes out of the garage. Found several winter coats that will be handy this week. Thankfully was able to donate two large trash bags full of clothing, including coats and jackets, to the Macon Rescue Mission. They should be able to make use of them or put them up for sale.

Surviving the urge to get a relaxer touchup. The six-week relaxer touchup is supposed to be today. I expected to hear from my "beautician" with information on what to do during this transition to natural, but have not. Wonder what that means...

In all, I am moving on with these goals and that this blog keeps me accountable.

BTW, my builder has filed bankruptcy so I am scrambling to get all my documentation together to try to get any available funds to finish the outstanding issues with the house. Lovely.

Goal: Time for Sacrifices

Goal: Get Fit

Just a quick note tonight. In developing a new eating plan to complement my exercise routine, I knew there would have to be some sacrifices made. Taking the time to exercise on the Total Gym before dinner may be difficult on cooking night but I'm willing to try.
Regarding the eating plan, the first two cuts are Kool-Aid and cheese (well not totally with the exception of a sprinkle on a salad). Until my metabolism has sky-rocketed, no more mac-n-cheese, cheese toast, deli sandwiches with cheese, etc.

I've eliminated dairy products before so I can do it again.

This should be interesting.
